A resource guide for Legion Family members, outlining "our positions in
relation to the 4 Pillars" of the American Legion, is now available on
legion.org, announced National Legislative Chair Kenneth Governor, who is also
New York Department PR chair.
Called "Our Pillars, Your Platform," "the guide is a valuable tool for voters, candidates and anyone
who wants to know where we stand on the important issues of the day," he said.
"You are
invited to read the guide and share it with others. When our posts conduct
voter registration drives, candidate forums or other related non-partisan
events, ask candidates for election where they stand in relation to the issues
advanced by our renowned American Legion."
It's given to each member of Congress and congressional candidates,
plus, with the Democratic and Republican National Conventions occurring every four
years, "The American Legion takes the opportunity to advise the respective
Platform Committees on what our great organization believes is important to our
country and which, consequently, should be included in their platforms,"
noted Governor.
